Who We Are

5ADAY Catering is a small fresh produce wholesale company based in Devizes, Wiltshire. We specialise in supplying local businesses with local produce which comes to us directly from the farm. We also have the expertise and relationships with importers to be able to procure difficult and unusual items quickly. As well as supplying fresh fruit and vegetables we also stock micro-herbs, prepared vegetables, dairy produce and bread. We choose to only supply customers within an hour's drive of our depot this means that we are usually able to run out an emergency delivery should you need it. We deliver 6 days a week (Monday to Saturday) and you are able to place orders with us up until midnight for delivery the next morning. As we are a small business operating from a farm we keep our overheads low- this enables us to be extremely competitive. We also make the most of our main overhead, our vans, by operating a home delivery box scheme in the afternoons. Our unrivalled links with local growers mean that should you require a product to be grown specifically for you then we can arrange for this to happen.

The Fruit and Veg Expert

Ken Mortimer is our Managing Director and our buyer. He has spent his whole life working in the fruit and vegetable trade and is our fountain of all knowledge!!

Ken studied farm management at college before working as a market gardener for 10 years. He then opened a chain of fresh fruit and vegetable retail units which became his passion for over 15 years. Looking for a fresh challenge Ken then took a side step into the catering supply industry. His in depth and specialist product knowledge means he is perfectly suited to buying produce to supply to the catering trade. In 2008 Ken was able to once again make use of his skills in the retail industry with the creation of http://www.5adaybox.co.uk:80/ a home delivery fruit and vegetable service. Ken now leads from the front with both 5ADAYBOX and 5ADAY Catering. He is rarely away from the office (except when there is a rugby game on when he will almost certainly be found in his local pub!) and so is always available to give advice on produce and tips on how to reach a higher GP!

Our Produce

At 5ADAY Catering the emphasis is on seasonal and local! Most of our vegetables are grown in Bromham which is just 4 miles from Devizes and we also have strong links with growers in the Vale of Evesham. All our eggs are free range and are laid in Trowbridge which is just 20 minutes drive from our depot. We look to support local businesses so if we can source something from Wiltshire we will, we then look to the rest of the UK and then of course we must look further afield for some of the more exotic items on your menus. Wherever we source our produce from we like to make sure we know that what we are buying is great quality and is grown in a socially and environmentally friendly way so we do our best to forge links with specific growers all over the world!

Our customers are varied and consist of schools, colleges, B&B’s, large hotels, offices, canteens, residential homes, conference centres, farm shops, caterers, pubs, restaurants, cafes and many more eclectic businesses. We do our best to support our customers in any way we can be that by helping with recipes, supporting events you may be holding or helping to promote your business wherever we can.
